Sorry for not updating this quickly enough. Revels and college application got in the way! But I do remember what we did that day.
This time, instead of the drug Lipitor, which contained only little percent of pure substance, Katie ordered pure 100% Lipitor for us to analyze.
We again did it with different concentrations and analyze the data with UV spectrum. The pure data exhibited same resulte with the mixed one; however, the pure one has a lot lower limit than the mixed one. In fact, Katie and I only did till 5% concentration, but we realized that it might be able to have lower results, which is very encouraging since in the nature the percentage is fairly low. Having a small concentration data will help us greatly when we move on to analyze real data.
A sad news for that day was that Katie had decided to switch her major, thus she will no longer be working on this project with me. Professor MaryAnn will take over this project with me from her. Although I am sad that Katie is leaving, I am very happy for her that she found her passion and wish her good luck :))
Interesting blog!
